Shit, I was actually going to sell my rockhopper (silver one). I would have cut you a hell of a deal. Oh well, I am looking to sell it if you know of anybody.

Damnit. What is the difference from the Rockhopper to the Hardrock?

Off the top of my head, his has hydro brakes and a manitou fork. Probably has better pods and deraileurs too if i had to guess. The frames look similar between the hardrock and the rockhopper but i have no idea what the diff is.

Ummm night and day is the difference.
Hardrocks are nice for a cheap pos bike but IMO are complete garbage. Even the entry level Rockhopper is a better buy as the frame weight and geometry are about 100 times better.
The fork is made by SR Suntour it is not even a marzocchi. You have no adjustment, besides adding another elastomer coil... POGOSTICK.
In reality it depends upon how you use the bike, if you hang it in the garage "13" months out of the year as most people do then it suits you. If you plan on riding, sell it or take it back and upgrade to a cockhopper.

I don't think this bike is as bad as you make it sound. I am over all happy with the way it rides/performs. The only thing I am dissapointed in is the shock, as you said it has no settings. I don't understand how you can come out saying this bike is complete "garbage" and a "pos" I am not an extreme rider, this bike suits my needs. And how much is a good Rockhopper new?

By the way, my rockhopper has the exact same fork on it as my FSR XC Pro. The only difference is my rockhopper has a ride height adjustment option installed instead of the lockout. Great fork though. It shows up on some pics at the top of this thread.

You are right. I went up to Epic today and rode a Rockhopper comp disc. It does ride a lot better. I would like to buy yours but the owner will only give me store credit. What rockhopper would you suggest for around 800$ ??

damn, that sux dude. Whatever it will buy you then. Rochopper is a great bike. It honestly rides every bit as nice as my fsr, just minus rear suspension.

I got the comp disc. Epic is putting it together and should be done tommarow. I will post pics when I get it.

Wasnt tryin to be a dick, just tryin to help the kid from throwin away money, when for a small sum of cash he can get basicaly twice the bike, that he wont be sticking money into and that is more practical all around.
I congrat you on taking it back, you will be alot happier on the rockhopper.
did you get a 06 or 07, the Tora is a great fork once broken in.
